Sobremesa is a Spanish expression referring to the moment after eating, spent around the table. It is an expression of connection, tied to extended meals and the pleasure of slow conversation.

In the design process, the aim was to create a contemporary interpretation of this concept: a large, open table that adapts to many scenarios, whether as a workspace, a dining table or a place for conversation and connection. Sobremesa with a cosmopolitan take.

Composed of French oak with walnut detailing, the piece creates a dialogue between the two materials, aesthetically reminiscent of a marquetry inlay technique. Starting from a series of solid wood blocks, the concept is based on geometric repetition. The use of the cube provides both a technical solution for the joinery and a practical way to integrate the chessboard into the table.

The table is designed for the dynamics of everyday life. Chess can be played on the corner, meals can be shared in the middle. The table is adaptable, open to interpretation. More than an object, it becomes a place where events unfold: a place for work, play, and creative exchange.
